Vampire Survivors VR brings bullet hell action to Meta Quest.
Okay, so Vampire Survivors VR just dropped on Meta Quest, and honestly, it’s the kind of chaotic energy I never knew I needed in my headset. For ten bucks, you can grab this bullet hell madness on Quest 2, 3, 3S, or Pro, and it’s exactly the top-down carnage you love, but now it’s literally in your face.I’ve sunk countless hours into the original, just watching my screen fill with glittering death and thinking, 'What if I was just… closer to this?' Well, Poncle answered, and it’s a vibe. Now, before you get too hyped, this isn’t some full-room VR experience where you’re dodging pixelated ghouls IRL—thank god, because my living room is a disaster zone.Instead, it’s more like Demeo, where you’re hovering over the action like a gaming god, controller in hand, which honestly feels pretty slick. You can play seated or standing, which is a win for us lazy gamers who don’t always want to break a sweat. But here’s the tea: it’s standalone, so no cross-buy with your PC or console saves. Yeah, that’s a bit of a gut punch if you’ve grinded for hours elsewhere, but given how VR messes with your brain, it kinda makes sense.Plus, the base game comes with the Legacy of the Moonspell and Tides of the Foscari expansions, so there’s plenty to sink your teeth into. What’s missing? No word on if that epic Castlevania DLC or the wild Balatro crossover will make it in, and online co-op—which is coming to other platforms—is still up in the air.Poncle’s keeping it exclusive to Meta for now, so Steam VR and Pico fans are out of luck. Honestly, though, if you’re down for some headache-inducing, nausea-triggering fun, this is a no-brainer. It’s Vampire Survivors, but turned up to eleven, and I’m here for it.
