Will Lionel Messi become the all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history?
Rules Summary
Resolves YES if Lionel Messi is the all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history at the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, based on cumulative goals scored across all World Cup tournaments, as officially confirmed by FIFA.com.
Resolves NO if any other player — including but not limited to Kylian Mbappé — has scored more total World Cup goals than Messi by the end of the tournament. In case of an exact tie for most all-time World Cup goals, resolves NO (Messi must be the sole record holder).
If Messi withdraws from the tournament before it concludes, the market still resolves based on his final World Cup goal tally compared to all other players' tallies at the end of the tournament. If the tournament is cancelled before completion, resolves NO
